On October 5, 2009, QuickStart and Lendertraining.com received approval as an NMLS approved provider of pre-licensing and continuing education for the licensing portal. 

Some facts

• Federally regulated banks and bank employees are exempt (FFIEC registration will occur by 2010)
• The NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) does not issue licenses, but serves as a tool to collect uniform information and act as a reporting database
• Individual states will still issue licenses, with minimum standards as set forth in the SAFE Act, and MAY HAVE MORE RIGOROUS requirements
• The NMLS will approve education providers and courses as to minimum standards as set forth in the SAFE Act, but states MAY HAVE MORE RIGOROUS requirements.
• The National and State Tests are required by the SAFE Act
• You do not need to complete your education requirement prior to taking the tests
• Many states have not completed transition plans to NMLS, although they are required to by December 31, 2010. You will STILL proceed through your state to obtain your license.
